But then one day, Kate comes home crying, packs up all her bags and moves back to her home town in the middle of nowhere.
Now he is on a ranch.

It is smelly. It is far from hot dog vendors, and most of all there is another dog. Outrageous. A very unsophisticated dog that Kate seems to like.

So Rexamillion does what any sensible dog does, he runs away. (Only for a few days to make her worry enough to miss him, then he’ll come back.)

But on his adventure he discovers something a horrifying — a dead body on a neighboring ranch. Now he has to return to Kate and help her solve the crime. Or he’s worried that Kate may be next.
